*Shared Corporate Allowance Packages (SCAPs) are available for a single company, government or non-governmental organization (NGO) to share megabytes and voice minutes for a single subscription fee across a group of SIM cards (up to 250 SIM cards). Any SIM card that is part of the SCAP can use as much or as little of the allowance as required. Lower usage SIM cards benefit by getting a better usage rate and do not risk wasting Megabytes/Voice minutes. Grouping SIM cards together benefits the organization to more fully utilize the megabytes/voice minutes allowance. There are 48 different SCAP subscription options. BGAN Prepaid is based on vouchers.
- Vouchers are available in 8 denominations – between 25 and 5,000 units per voucher.
- The vouchers are virtual (e-vouchers) – there are no physical cards.
- Depending on the voucher size, a number of free bonus units are provided.
- The vouchers are to be used in combination with an activated BGAN (or Inmarsat SPS) SIM card, activated under the Prepaid package.
- The validity period is the length of time in which units can be used once loaded onto the SIM card. Any unused units at the end of the validity period will expire and are non-refundable.
- When a user tops up (reloads) minutes, the validity of the voucher units is added to any remaining validity on the SIM card at the moment of the top-with, with a maximum period of 24 months.
- Circuit Switches Voice, SMS and Standard IP services are supported and also mandatory
- ISDN and Streaming are currently not supported
- Prepaid SIM cards are identical to regular BGAN SIM cards
- Minimum duration is 50 KB for Background IP and 30 seconds for voice calls
- Billing increment is 10 KB for Background IP and 15 seconds for voice calls
- Each Prepaid service option uses a certain amount of units per minute, MB, or SMS. See chart below
- Based on the chart below, the type of service you use determines the number of units used.
For example: If you purchase a 25 unit voucher, you could use these 25 units with
- 25 minutes (25 units) of Voice Calls to Fixed, or
- 4 minutes (4 units) of Voice Calls to Voice Mail
5 minutes (10 units) of Voice Calls to SPS
1 minute (1.5 units) of Voice Calls to BGAN
1 MB (9.5 units) of Standard IP, or
- any other combination that adds up to 25 units
