NavCom SoftCase (GSC-1410)"The Ultimate Portable Accessory"$1295.00 The Globalstar-Certified SoftCase (GSC-1410) from NavCom Digital is a unique accessory available for the Globalstar GSP-1600 portable satellite phone. Designed to be easily transported, the SoftCase combines the Globalstar Vehicle Kit (GCK-1410) with a custom made, rugged ballistic nylon case. Installation of the satellite phone is as easy as placing the portable handset into the mounting cradle, plugging in the cigarette lighter power adapter, and mounting the magnetic mount antenna in any area that has a view of the sky. The SoftCase allows use of the satellite phone within an enclosure that would normally require a fixed satellite phone. The SoftCase is the ultimate versatile and easy to use accessory. It provides a Privacy Handset (CGK-0008) and a hands-free microphone and speaker. The external antenna features an 16-foot (5 m) cable that connects the Globalstar Electronic Module (GEM) or 'black box' securely enclosed within the SoftCase. In addition to the standard length cable there are 30 and 45-foot (9.1 and 13.7 m) antenna cable options available. An optional external cellular antenna can be easily connected to access 800 MHz AMPS or CDMA cellular service. The SoftCase has an RS-232 data interface makes it easy to attach a computer to send or receive e-mail, fax, or access a web page. A 6-foot (1.8 m) serial data cable is included. As an added feature that is unique to the SoftCase, NavCom Digital designed the GSC-1410 to fit precisely within the rugged Pelican 1450 hard case. In effect a 'combo case,' this allows the SoftCase to be conveniently made waterproof and crushproof. This option allows the SoftCase to be safely checked as baggage or shipped with no additional container.
In addition to being watertight, the Pelican case is unbreakable, dustproof, chemical resistant, and corrosion proof. It is made of Ultra High Impact structural copolymer that makes it extremely strong and durable. Its exclusive 1/4-inch (6.4 mm) neoprene o-ring and ABS latches seal perfectly. Each case is lockable and includes an automatic purge valve for quick equalization after changes in atmospheric pressure. Easily transported and installed, the Extreme Docking Kit (EDK-1410) was designed so that users can enjoy the versatility of a portable satellite phone while also allowing for convenient use of satellite service in interior environments such as buildings, land vehicles, offshore vessels and platforms. The Globalstar Extreme Docking Kit makes it easy to use a personal computer (PC) or personal digital assistant (PDA) to access the Internet, send or receive e-mail, and fax. The Globalstar Extreme Docking Kit combines the Globalstar Mobile Kit (GCK-1410) with special adapters and cables to provide for an easy installation with the greatest versatility. The EDK-1410 allows convenient mounting of the Qualcomm tri-mode handset (GSP-1600) in a cradle connected to the Globalstar Electronic Module (GEM) or "black box". The GEM also connects the corded privacy handset, hands-free microphone, and speaker to the external magnetic mount satellite antenna. An optional cellular antenna can also be connected to access 800 MHz AMPS analog or CDMA digital cellular service. A 6-foot serial data cable (RS232) is provided for quick connection to a PC or PDA.
