Iridium > Fixed > Terminals > Beam RST-200 Remote Satellite Voice/Data Modem The Beam RST200 Remote Satellite Voice / Data Modem provides for intelligent data / SCADA telecommunications access via the Iridium satellite network. RST200 Key Features
The RST200 is designed for all remote communications applications for mobile or fixed use in the following markets; Maritime, Transport, Defence, Emergency Services, Mining, Construction, Telemetry and Security. Global Coverage
The Iridium Satellite network provides global coverage from pole to pole and the use of low powered antennas ensures the Beam communication terminal provides a truly global solution.
Modem Emulation The RST200 emulates the functionality of a Hayes compatible modem. It provides a socket for the subscriber to connect a conventional serial RS232 device. The user operates the connected equipment as though using a normal dial-up data service or modem connection. Intelligent Handset Interface Specialized Applications The Intelligent processor inside the RST200 enables the use of remote commands or polling to retrieve data from the Log Port of the terminal. This functionality can be used in conjunction with SMS and or Short Burst Data. This functionality can be adapted to various applications such as polling GPS locations or taking readings from remote devices or digital inputs. Remote Diagnostics Using SMS with the intelligence built into the Beam RST200 terminal; it is possible to remotely configure and request information such as diagnostic checks, signal strength, temperature, call logs and the ability to have automated reporting for "still alive" reporting if required. The terminals perform some simple polling of a device plugged into the Log Port of the terminal. Power Inputs / Backup Battery
Beam terminals support 11-32V DC power input. An AC plug-pack is supplied with all terminals, which makes it easy to connect to mains or DC power. The use of an RST050 Beam Battery Back-up is an ideal accessory where guaranteed communication is required.
An optional Beam Battery Backup, can provide 48 hours standby time and 4 hours of talk time. The terminal is also capable of being Solar Powered. Alert / Tracking Interface
The Beam TrackALERT terminals are an intelligent Alert / Tracking and Monitoring unit all-in-one and are available for all Beam terminals. TrackALERT allows the deployment of various applications including vehicle or asset tracking, monitoring and condition reporting, along with remote control and configuration. Alert/Alarm monitoring applications are also possible.
For detailed information on the Beam TrackALERT terminals see our TrackALERT page for detailed information. Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) The RST200 when used with the TrackALERT interface is fully compliant with Solas SSAS Regulations. Data Services All Beam terminals support all of the Iridium Data services available. This then provides a flexible means by which to communicate using one or more of the following protocols:
Whilst all data services are available on the RST200 voice communications are only supported via the use of an optional Intelligent Handset, RST970. Installation The RST200 can be deployed for various applications. Selecting an appropriate antenna and antenna cable for the installation is very important for optimum performance. Mounting brackets, configuration CD and international plug pack are all included with the terminal. Our Price: $2,380Links: |
