Market Applications The RST610 is suitable for simple to use remote fixed or mobile communications. The voice/Data Module can be easily deployed into various installations applications across many market segments. Global Coverage The Iridium Satellite network provides a robust network for supporting a global tracking application. Global coverage from pole to pole and the use of low powered antennas that are omni directional ensures the Beam communication terminals provide a truly global solution. Modem Emulation The RST610 emulates the functionality of a Hayes compatible modem. The user operates the connected equipment as though using a normal dial-up data service or modem connection. Data Services All Beam terminals support all of the Iridium Data services available. This then provides a flexible means by which to communicate using one or more of the following protocols;
Voice Services Voice services can only be accessed using the optional Intelligent handset, RST970. Intelligent Handset Interface The Beam Intelligent Handset, RST970, is an ideal accessory for voice and SMS communications. The handset is compact, lightweight, easy to install and comes complete with hang-up cup and mounting brackets. The handset has a built in ringer, supports full SMS functionality as well as an easy menu system to access phone settings. TrackALERT Interface: The Beam TrackALERT terminals are an intelligent Alert / Tracking and Monitoring unit all-in-one and are available for all Beam terminals. TrackALERT allows the deployment of various applications including vehicle, asset, asset tracking, monitoring and condition reporting, remote control and configuration. Alert/Alarm monitoring applications are available. The TrackALERT interface is highly intelligent and the ability to configure many parameters in the terminal locally or remotely enables a great deal of customization and flexibility. Power Inputs / Backup Battery The RST610 terminal is supplied with a universal AC power supply. A readily available country specific kettle/monitor cord is required. The unit can also be connected to an 11–32V DC power supply. The RST610 supports the Beam Battery Backup, RST050. When using the battery Backup with the RST610 this will provide at least 48 hours of standby time and 4 hours of communications time. The terminal is also capable of being Solar Powered. Installation The RST6100 can be deployed for various applications. Selecting an appropriate antenna and antenna cable for the installation is very important for optimum performance.
