The hands-free system enables the user to have a professional hands-free installation for high quality voice calls. The handset supplied with the unit provides for private conversation simply by removing the handset from the cradle. The interface unit and external speaker provides for loud ring indication and or horn/light call alert. In-vehicle Integration The RST620 kit allows a Beam terminal to be permanently installed in a vehicle and provides full duplex hands-free operation. The Microphone and speaker are simply installed in a convenient location within the vehicle. Hands-free Use When using the Hands-free Interface (HFI), included with the RST620 or as an provides high quality, full duplex, and hands-free voice communications. Other key features of the HFI include; Horn Alert Radio Integration Radio Mute. The intelligent handset can be easily removed from its cradle if a private conversation is required. Intelligent Handset The Beam Intelligent Handset, RST970 included with the RST620 kit supports all voice and SMS communications. The handset is compact, lightweight, easy to install and comes complete with hang-up cup and mounting brackets. The handset has a built in ringer, supports full SMS functionality as well as an easy menu system to access phone settings. Data Services All Beam terminals support all of the Iridium Data services available. This then provides a flexible means by which to communicate using one or more of the following protocols;
Voice services on the RST620 are accessed through the Intelligent handset for private conversations or through the integrated hands-free features. TrackALERT Interface:  The Beam TrackALERT terminals are an intelligent Alert / Tracking and Monitoring unit all-in-one and are available for all Beam terminals. TrackALERT allows the deployment of various applications including vehicle, asset, asset tracking, monitoring and condition reporting, remote control and configuration. Alert/Alarm monitoring applications are available.
The TrackALERT interface is highly intelligent and the ability to configure many parameters in the terminal locally or remotely enables a great deal of customization and flexibility. Installation The Fixed Voice/Data Telephone can be deployed into various types of installations including; vehicles, marine vessels, aeroplanes and any fixed site location. The kit consists of the Iridium transceiver module, Hands-free interface and the Intelligent Handset. The equipment can be easily connected to 11-32V Dc input to meet the requirements of any vehicle applications. Selecting an appropriate antenna and antenna cable (not included) in kit for the installation is very important for optimum performance. Mounting brackets, Intelligent Handset, Speaker, Microphone and cable assemblies are supplied with the kit. Warning It is recommended to have the RST620 installed by a qualified engineer when installing in a vehicle or aircraft. The handheld handset should not be used whilst operating a vehicle.
