- A Pre-Paid Plan is a plan with which one may select the number of minutes they think will use and pay for it them up-front, before being able to place calls. Pre-Paid plans vary in size and expiration and there are specialized plans for Africa and Canada. Your pre-paid plan information is stored on a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card, which can be inserted into any Iridium phone. Please refer to the service comparison for more details.

- A Post-Paid Plan is a plan with which one may pay for airtime after it has actually been used. It is a monthly account, similar to a credit card charge account. As such, there are no expiration dates on post-paid plans, but are instead charged a monthly service fee to maintain service and phone number. Please refer to our Service Comparison for more details.
There are two different Post-Paid plan options - the Standard and the Emergency plan. See the chart below for the differences - especially for the minute airtime rate and activation fees.
Either of the Post-Paid Plans can only be setup by faxing us a completed service agreement, which can be found at the bottom of the Post-Paid Plan details. Online activations are currently unavailable.

| Customers that consume all of their Pre-Paid minutes or allow their SIM card to expire will have 90 days to reload more minutes onto the card or it will be deactivated. Once the card is deactivated the customer will have to get a new Pre-Paid SIM card and will be issued a new Iridium phone number. |
Combining Plans- You may combine any of the prepaid plans to extend the expiration date and increase the number of minutes.
For example, if you purchased a 150 minute plan and a 225 minute plan, the minutes will be valid for 5 months
(150 = 60 days, 225 = 90 days). Subscribers to the Worldwide prepaid plans will not be permitted to switch to
African or Canadian regionalized prepaid options.

A call may be placed directly to the Iridium phone by placing an international call to country 8816,
followed by the Iridium phone number. The caller pays for the call based on the rate the caller´s
long distance provider charges for calls to country code 8816. This incoming call is free to the Iridium user. However, many long distance providers charge very high rates to call country 8816. We recommend
that callers check this rate with their long distance carrier before calling directly. Normally a more
cost effect option is to use two stage dialing, where the caller calls a US phone number, then enters the satellite phone number, and the call is transferred to the Iridium phone. With this option, the Iridium phone holder is charged the Incoming 2 Stage Call rate above.

Satellite calls are billed in 20 second increments - 1 minute minimum.
Monthly Fees are prorated for a partial month when activation occurs. The full Monthly Fee applies for the month of deactivation.
SHORT BURST DATA NOTES:
- Minimal billable message size for Short Burst Data is 30 bytes, with 1 byte increments thereafter.
- Individual Short Burst Data messages are rounded to the next whole cent.
- Short Burst Data fees and rates are in addition to other services and can be ordered as a stand alone service.
SHORT MESSAGING SERVICE NOTES:
- Maximum message size is 160 Alpha Numeric Characters
- Iridium 9500 supports only incoming SMS messages.

Please print and review the Monthly Service Agreement prior to service activation. You must fax the last page of this agreement with authorized signature to Satellite Phones Direct prior to service activation. You will be contacted following the receipt of your service agreement.
