Can the GSP-1600 phone be used in a vehicle, or is an adapter needed?
- To make a Globalstar mode call while in a vehicle, the user needs to install a Globalstar Hands-Free Car Kit. Since this would require a permanent installation, it is not available for rentals.
Can you transmit data over the Globalstar Network? And at what speed?
- Yes, Globalstar offers data services (up to 9.6 kbps throughput) with the GSP-1600. To use this service, you must rent the optional Data Kit which contains required cables and software. Click here for more details.
