Coverage Area:
The GlobalStar GSP-1600 rental phone will provide you with excellent coverage in the continental United States, Puerto Rico, the Eastern Caribbean and Canada. This is known as the GlobalStar "Home Service Area". Home Service Area includes: Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Guantanamo Bay, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, Netherlands Antilles, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Turks and Caicos Islands, Virgin Islands, United States. Includes Long Distance rates to the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.
Long Distance charges may apply when placing a call to other Caribbean countries. Calls placed from outside the Home Service Area or calls placed to an area outside the Home Service Area are subject to roaming, and are billed at $3.99 per minute. If you are traveling outside the GlobalStar Home Service Area, or placing calls to countries outside this area, we recommend the Iridium rental phone to avoid roaming charges. Please note that Cancun, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama are not in the GlobalStar Home Service Area.
GSP-1600 Model:
The GSP-1600 satellite phone features voice and an optional data/internet at a speed of 9600 bps. The GSP-1600 satellite phone is 7"x 2"x 1 1/2" in size and weighs approximately 13 ounces. Your GlobalStar phone will have a US phone number and voice mail is included. We will provide the phone number for your GlobalStar rental phone with your rental dialing instructions.

DC Auto Adapter(Car Charger). The cigarette lighter adapter lets a user operate or charge a phone while driving. When plugged into the cigarette lighter, the adapter supplies power to the phone with or without a battery. If a battery is attached to the phone, the adapter will also supply power for fast charging the battery. A lit green light on the adapter indicates that the unit is plugged in properly. |

The 4.2 Watt Solar Sport solar charger contains a built-in rechargeable battery suitable to recharge handheld Globalstar phones and many other small electronic devices. Data Kit The GlobalStar data kit contains the hardware and software required to establish a GlobalStar data call with a GSP-1600 Portable Phone. Placing a call:
1.) Power on the phone
2.) Rotate the satellite phone antenna for GlobalStar service.
3.) Dial 1 + Area Code + Tel #.
Receiving a call:
1.) Your phone must be powered on with a clear view of the sky to successfully receive an incoming call.
2.) Rotate the satellite phone antenna for GlobalStar service.
3.) A person calling you would dial 1 + Area Code + Tel #. (The phone number of your rental phone).
4.) If you are unavailable, the caller will have the option to leave you a voice mail.
